The Dunlin

This small wading bird has a slightly down curved bill and is greyish brown with pale belly. It has black legs and bill

but at certain times can have a reddish back and black belly. They are approximately 16 to 20cm in length with a wingspan of 35 to 40cm and they weigh in at between 40 and 50g There are 9,600 breeding pairs in the uk
