“Aix Galariculata”








The distinctive bird has the  most elaborate and ornate plumage with striking orange feathers on

 face, back and flanks.







They were introduced from China.

They eat insects, vegetation and seeds.

They are 40 to 50 cm in length

 They have a wingspan of 67 to 75cm 

They weigh in at between 430 and 695g.

They are seen all year round.
