The Pintail is slightly bigger than a Mallard and has a long neck and small head and beautiful tail feathers.

They eat plants and invertebrates.

They are 63 to 70cm in length

 They have a wingspan of 80 to 95cm 

They weigh in at between 55g and 2.2kg. 

It is a dabbling duck and does not dive for food 

but feeds at the waters surface. 

They live for around 3 years.

They are amber listed and can be seen all year round.
