“Charadrius Hiaticula”

This small bird is a member of the plover family.

It’s a red listed species.

Its a small short legged round little bird brown above and white underparts.

You see them on beaches

They forage for worms molluscs and crustaceans and spiders.

They are 18 to 20cm in length

 They have a wingspan of 48 to 56cm 

They weigh in at between 55 and 75g.
