The Spoonbill is a large white bird with some yellow on the bill and breast and a bill that is shaped like a spoon.

They move the bill from side to side in sweeping movements
They eat small fish and invertebrates.
They are between 80 and 90cm in length
They have a wingspan of 120 to 135cm
They weigh in at between 1.3 to 2kg.
They are scarce with only 4 breeding pairs in the uk .
They belong to the stork/ibis/heron family
